When it comes to my food choices, I’m pretty picky about what I put into my body. After all, we are what we eat, right? For me, that means consuming as much organic, ethically sourced, chemical-free, local, and minimally processed foods as possible - striving for progress, not perfection. To put it simply, eat real food. I live by this philosophy and help my clients transition into this lifestyle every day.
When it comes to skincare and beauty, however, I have to admit, I haven't always taken the same approach. Let’s face it: it’s hard to break old habits, and finding non-toxic substitutes for my favorite products is often easier said than done. The good news is that clean beauty is starting to really make its mark, and there have never been more options (or less excuses).
Before we get started, there are a few things to note: first, there’s no miracle product that will fix your skin more than cleaning up your diet. That means consuming all of your vitamins and minerals through food, drinking adequate amounts of water throughout the day, and supplementing when needed. Second, this is a transition. There's no need to toss all your half-used products and make a huge up-front investment; you can make the swap gradually as you need replacements.
Now the moment you’ve all been waiting for: my clean-ish beauty routine. These are the products I’m currently using, new non-toxic favorites, and beauty staples that I’ve been loyal to for years.
